When USA wins, Heart Gallery of New Mexico Foundation wins.
The Heart Gallery of New Mexico Foundation provides financial support to encourage adoption and ensure that no youth in New Mexico leaves foster care without a promise for a future. At any one time, there are 2,500 children in the custody of New Mexico Children Youth and Families Department (CYFD). The Heart Gallery of New Mexico Foundation (HGNMF) focuses on "hard-to-place" foster children: pre-teens, teens, siblings, and the mildly disabled (ages 11-21). For these youth fostering could extend for years while living with multiple families, changing schools, and difficulties with each move. The foundation invest its funds in four core statewide programs; Heart Gallery Exhibits, Adoption Events, Foster Youth Opportunities, and Public Awareness. Mattress Firm's goal is to raise funds and awareness of an organization that has been helping foster children of New Mexico since 2001. This was a great reason to root for the USA winter Olympic team. The USA Winter Olympic team pulled through for us and we exceeded our goal and donated OVER $14,000 to the Heart Gallery of New Mexico foundation. Our goal is not only to raise funds for this very worthy organization, but to raise the awareness of the great things they are doing in the community. We will continue to support the community and worthy organizations that help our future through helping our children.
